KARACHI:Former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Faisal RazaAbidiwas detained after an early morning raid at his Karachi residence on Saturday.
Abidi was taken into custody after police and Rangers personnel searched his house in the city for about half an hour, sources said. The personnel arrived at the former Senators residence in at least 10 vehicles and blocked all passages surroundingAbidi’s residence during the swoop.
He has reportedly been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. However, none of the law enforcement agencies (LEA) have revealed the reason behind the former senator’sarrest. However, sources informed that the former senator would be interrogated pertaining to some high-profile cases.
Abidi – once among the most trusted lieutenants of former president AsifAli Zardari – was accused of violating party discipline and repeatedly issuing statements in favour of martial law.
